Philadelphia, PA – The Philadelphia Flyers have signed right wing Wayne Simmonds to a multi-year contract extension.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but TSN of Canada on Wednesday reported it to be a six-year pact worth around $4 million per season.

"We are pleased to announce that we have agreed to a multi-year extension with Wayne Simmonds," Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren said on Thursday. Nike Air Max 95"Wayne plays the game with courage and honor and we believe he will continue to be a very good winger for our organization."

Simmonds scored a career-high 28 goals, including 11 on the power play, last season and tallied 21 assists in his first year with the Flyers. He joined the team as a part of a trade with the Los Angeles Kings.

In four seasons with the Kings and Flyers, Simmonds has recorded 67 goals and 142 points in 322 games.

Simmonds, who turns 24 on Aug. 26, had one year remaining on his current deal, worth $1.75 million.

"I'm extremely happy to have this deal in place," Simmonds added. "We're going to have a good team in Philly for a long time and I just wanted to be able to be a part of hopefully bringing a championship back to the Philly faithful."
