Doctors have cleared Cleveland forward/center Tyler Zeller to return after suffering a fractured left orbital bone and a concussion, the Cavaliers announced.
Zeller will wear a protective mask Saturday night when the Cavs (2-6) play Dallas.
The rookie was injured Nov. 5 in Los Angeles when he took an errant elbow that left him with a fractured cheekbone, a black eye and swollen face, and headaches. He told The Plain Dealer that he failed parts of the NBA's concussion test after the injury.
"Just having him back will help," Cavs coach Byron Scott said, according to The Plain Dealer. "He's another big body who knows how to play. He's an integral part of what we do. He helps our rotation better."
Zeller is adjusting to the mask, which he'll wear for an indefinite period.
"It's like anything," he said. "You've got to get used to it. jordans shoesDribbling could be more of a problem, but I don't dribble anyway. So it's cool."
The Cavs also announced Friday that forward Luke Harangody will miss approximately six weeks after having arthroscopic procedure on his right knee Friday morning in Cleveland Clinic.
